Training

The International QSAR Foundation is pleased to announce an online training program in QSAR methods and the QSAR Application Toolbox being developed by OECD member countries. The training program is designed for scientists charged with developing safety assessments for chemical manufacturers and distributors as well as for those charged with evaluating submitted assessments for new chemicals or those already used in commerce.

A spring training was held in Barcelona May 12 - 13, 2009 for the basic training course and May 14 - 15 for the advanced training workshop. The Toolbox is available to the public as a free download from OECD. The International QSAR Foundation coordinated with OECD, the developer of the Toolbox, and local organizers to make training available on a cost-recovery basis.

QSAR Application Toolbox Training Barcelona, Spain, October 20 - 24, 2008

An autumn training workshop for the QSAR Application Toolbox was provided in Barcelona on October 20 - 24, 2008.  The Toolbox is available to the public as a free download. The application featured in Phase I of the Toolbox was the formation of chemical categories and filling data gaps in test data for industrial chemicals. The full potential of the Toolbox in avoiding unnecessary testing can be realized after a two-day training session on the QSAR methods included in the Toolbox.
